General Information

Maximum Altitude: 3892 mts
Trek Grade: Moderate

The trek follows the Ganges to its source at Gaumukh, the snout of river Ganges. Move along the beaten track towards Bhojbasa, enroute passing Chirbasa. From Chirbasa the terrain becomes desolate and barren. In fact, it has been refered to as the Arctic Tundra by many trekkers. The trek offers enchanting views of Mt. Shivling & Bhagirathi group of mountains.

Day 01 (Sat): Delhi - Rishikesh
Morning leave Delhi to reach Rishikesh by evening. On arrival Check-in at the hotel . Evennig at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 02 (Sun): Rishikesh - Uttarkashi
Morning after breakfast drive further 155 kms to reach Uttarkashi. On arrival, check-in at Shikhar Nature Resort (SNR), located at the Bank of River Bhagirathi (Ganges), welcome tea/coffee and allotment of the tents. After lunch relax at the resort. Evening take up a short hike on the nearby mountain. Dinner & Overnight at the resort

Day 03 (Mon): Uttarkashi - Gangotri
Morning after breakfast drive (95 Km / 2-3 Hrs) to Gangotri (3048 m) passing through Harsil a scenic settlement of the Budhist people and a 354 feets high span bridge at Bhairav ghati. Upon arrival, check in the Hotel. Rest of the day to relax and get acclimatised. Visit Gangotri temple in the evening for aarti.tised. Lunch, Dinner and overnight stay at the Hotel.

Day 04 (Tue): Gangotri - Bhojbasa
Morning after an early breakfast and with packed lunch start trekking (14 Km / 4-5 Hrs) to Bhojbasa (3658 m) following the river Bhagirathi. From Bhojbasa you can have majestic view of Bhagirathi group of peaks. Dinner and stay at the camp.

Day 05 (Wed): Bhojbasa - Gaumukh - Bhojbasa
Morning after breakfast trek (8 Km / 3-4 Hrs) to reach Gaumukh, the source of river Ganges. One can have a wide view of the peaks in this region.Return trek to Bhojbasa (9 Km / 4-5 Hrs). Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.

Day 06 (Thu): Bhojbasa -Gangotri - Uttarkash
Morning after breakfast, trek down to Gangotri (14 Km / 3-4 Hrs) with packed lunch. On arrival drive (95 Km / 2-3 Hrs) to Uttarkashi. Upon arrival check in at Shikhar Nature Resort. Campfier dinner & overnight stay at resort.

Day 07 (Fri): Uttarkashi
After a relaxed breakfast, take a sightseeing tour of Uttarkashi- visit Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, Vishwanath temple ( this temple is devoted to Lord Shiva. The main attraction of this temple is the Shivling which is 60 cm high & 90 cm circumference). Campfire dinner and overnight at resort.
Day 08 (Sat): Uttarkashi / Delhi Morning after breakfast drive back to Delhi.

1. Twin sharing accommodation in hotels at Rishikesh, Swiss cottage tents at SNR & in alpine tents/ tourist bunglow during trek.
2. All meals (Veg) starting from Dinner on day 01 till Breakfast on day 08.
3. All kitchen & camping equipments during trek.
4. Transportation from Delhi-Delhi in an A/c vehicle (non A/c from Rishikesh onwards)
